ARTWELL

WHO: Artwell
WHERE: Hong Kong, China, Cambodia
WHAT: Apparel
WHEN: Est. 1986
WHY: Since its inception, Artwell has always been a vertical and sustainable
supplier of 100%-traceable cashmere, devoted to their ongoing mission to learn, improve, and innovate. At the heart of the company lives an active commitment to protecting the environment—and the health and welfare of people and animals—with a lean manufacturing model.

PLANET

Cashmere is sourced from Mongolian farms that raise goats humanely and don’t overgraze the grassland.
Artwell uses eco-friendly dyes from Huntsman Textile Effects.
Artwell factories harness residual steam from local power plants for all heating needs. They’re also fully in house, from warehouse and R&D center to dyeing and knitting facilities. This all-in-one setup helps maintain sustainability practices, end to end.

PEOPLE

Artwell partners with herders in Inner Mongolia, offering financing, education, and support to help ease the financial stress that comes with the demand of higher volume and lower costs (fast fashion), prevent overgrazing, and ensure fair trade and the best animal-welfare practices.
The lean manufacturing approach helps streamline production, enhancing the overall work environment.
