how we identify, express ourselves, and love builds upon who we already are: inherently worthy humans. but we know that the majority of LGBTQIA2S+ kids don’t get this kind of validation.
Friends of the Children, a main beneficiary of the Why Not You Foundation, is on a mission to change this. The research- and relationship-based nonprofit provides long-term mentorship and a deep sense of belonging to the most marginalized among us: LGBTQIA2S+ and other oppressed youth.

SUSTAINABLY MADE

Our commitment to having a high impact on people and a low impact on the planet is ongoing. We know that most of the impact on the planet happens as the clothing is being made, so we have our Goods Mandate in place, helping us make the best planet-conscious decisions when it comes to our materials. While we are committed to 70% of our materials coming from the Best/Better categories, we haven’t hit the mark yet. One of the biggest challenges for smaller brands is getting access to the right materials while meeting minimum order quantities. Ordering more than we need to meet these minimums just creates waste and that’s not a tradeoff we are willing to make. We aren’t perfect but we are headed in the right direction.

3% GIVE BACK

Our commitment to moving the world forward is an ongoing goal. Not only is climate conscious innovation part of this team effort, 3% of proceeds from every product sold goes to the Why Not You Foundation, a nonprofit empowering today’s youth to be tomorrow’s leaders.

    SUSTAINABLY MADE

We source cotton that’s Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS)-certified—the gold standard when it comes to organic textiles—because organic-cotton production replenishes soil fertility, increases biodiversity, minimizes greenhouse gas emissions, and uses fewer toxic pesticides and fertilizers, easing the toll on humans and wildlife.

All of our cotton can be traced back to countries of origin, and we’re working on achieving farm-level traceability for our key suppliers. We never source cotton from areas with a high risk of child or forced labor.

Our commitment to having a high impact on people and a low impact on the planet is ongoing. It patinas like a dream, and looks—and feels better—with age. But while it’s definitely heirloom worthy, it’s not always planet friendly. Which is why we’ve chosen one of the most eco-friendly options today: leather from tanneries that have achieved the highest level (a gold rating) of sustainable environmental and workplace practices, as determined by the Leather Working Group.
